Intro to the client

Client is a busy, forty-something, mom of two who has a closet full of clothing with nothing to wear. She is in the medical field so wears scrubs most days works, needing clothing mostly for social events and weekends. She is a taller, leaner, woman and while she can wear a lot, she is a bit self-conscious of her height and prefers to wear flats. She is feeling overwhelmed with decision making around her outfits – she likes clothing but struggles to put them together. And while she hates shopping, she does take a risk occasionally - only to not wear the item because she doesn’t know how to. This leads to having a lot of clothing but only ends up wearing the same things. She struggles with feeling confident in her outfits and is ready to streamline the process. Like many clients in the Silicon Valley, she has bandwidth to spend on pieces but lacks the time to shop or create outfits.

Style Personality

She likes to be youthful and somewhat trendy, but also classic. She has a preference towards shopping European brands and has a very Eurpean sensibility about her which I would describe as an understated elegance with some avant garde elemants. She likes mostly classic pieces but then will add something unexpected into the mix like a pop of color, embellishment or a shoe that is a little bit “off”. And while there is a quiet luxury aspect to her, she also feels relaxed – almost beachy. She is a woman who will dress down a beautiful dress with a sneaker – giving her an element of “cool”. Because she is in scrubs all week, she is open to an element of surprise in her weekend outfits.

Style Goals and Budge

Her style goals are to make getting dressed more simple and to have a wardrobe to suit her needs. She wants a stylist to streamline her wardrobe so it’s easier to navigate. She would also like help finding pieces that are casual but elevated so she feels comfortable but looks pulled together. Overall, she wants the clothing in her wardrobe to give her a sense of confidence – she doesn’t want MORE. She wants to DO more with less. Given her minimalist goal, she is willing to invest up to $600 a piece but needs to understand how to this expensive piece can get “more bang for it’s buck”.
